I would recommend that you relax and just concentrate in your training. Have a drink while you do your modules bc after that you will be thrown to the floor. Ask many questions while practicing.
Personally I believe you don’t have to spend time after work to study or make some visual aids bc you don’t get paid to do it and your time and mind is valuable. The only thing that you need to know the different types of sandwiches and wraps bc it can get confusing at first if you’re put on reg or bar. Drinks will come easier and easier each day you work.
My best wishes to you !! Remember that the first month is the worst but after that everything will make more sense and you will get used to the pace/ depending on your store busyness. I’m glad you’re working rn after the free coffee we had on December it was crazy and made me hate people but I survived so you got this !!

to add to the point about the food items, the ham and swiss sandwich and the ham and cheese croissant are two different things. I realized this probably a few in lol. it was confusing for me because the ham and swiss sandwich came on a croissant bun.

I also came to Starbucks from Chipotle! I think the biggest change that I had to adjust to with Starbucks was that you don’t train on a single position but that you learn everything. And at least for my store, I probably work each position daily, even if it’s only for a little bit. I think that alone was pretty confusing at first, but it’s nice because you get a lot of variety and you’ll master certain tasks pretty quickly.

Hi!! I’ve worked at Starbucks for almost 6 years and seen a lot of people come and go (I’m going soon lol). I’d say just ask a lot of questions and know that any little mistake is an easy fix! Don’t take it too seriously but try hard. It can be really fun when you get to know the people around you and regular customers. Also take any advice you get and run with it! Good luck (:

ask tons of questions. for the first 2-3 months you’ll probably still be asking questions lol. there’s so much to learn! one of the hardest/most intimidating things to learn for me was the DTO (drive thru order) screen. What helped me learn it was taking pictures of each tab and going home and seeing what drinks/customizations were in which tab. There’s a lot to learn but once you get it down it becomes second nature. you got this!
