Is anyone else’s store going down drastically in hours? I don’t know how I’m going to survive smh (i.redd.it)

This is what happens after the holidays. Some stores have had over 100 hours of labor of week cut. It’ll even out once we get closer to spring and people quit to go back to school.

My store is still making about 5-8k a day smh

Y’all have a lot of partners! It just depends on how many labor hours have been approved, and your dm determines that. Have you asked ur manager to give you more hours?

Hours always get cut right after xmas even if the store is still making the same amount of money. Managers continue hiring so that there's a greater chance at finding coverage for the inevitable callouts. This is the curse of working retail (and yes I'm including sbux I'm that category). You have to have open availability in order to work 15-20 hrs/week, but those hours are in 4-5 hr chunks and the schedule changes every week making a second job extremely difficult. I'm not saying it's right, but this is how it goes every year after the holidays.

not my store were so understaffed it’s not even funny, I think there’s 16 employees total including SM, SSV’s and baristas so i’m getting close to 40 hours just as a barista.

My store too and for some reason my SM hired like 7 people before Christmas so we all have no hours :(

Same idk why they keep hiring ppl if the people already here are struggling

Yup. My managers reasoning for it was that he doesn't want people to burn out or get tired. Most people's shifts are now 5 and a half hours long now and everyone is complaining.

At my store we've just stopped hiring people and through attrition are down to 11 partners working in the store. We rotate through the same 6 morning partners and same 5 closing partners for the past 4 months.

I wish we had that.
