In the same boat here it's ridiculous. Also no one is even supposed to be leaving their house unless it's for food shopping or work? So how does popping in for a Starbucks fit into that? Idk if you're franchise or 23.5 but I think they're just terrified of putting anyone in furlough. We've had stores in our area close due to poor sales and instead of furloughing the staff they're just shoving them in our store meaning all our hours have been cut in half.

I saw a comment from a nurse on insta saying something like “healthcare workers NEED coffee so it’s essential that Starbucks stays open” okay listen lady you can make coffee at home. Or get some other form of caffeine from an actual essential business like a gas station or a grocery store.
