My manager is one of those who will decide not to hire someone if they call him after he’s told them he’ll call them.

At this point you’ve turned in your application, had at least a preliminary interview, and you reached out to your interviewer. At this point, I would advise you to just wait. This is a really difficult time to get hired at Starbucks between the end of the holidays, a reduction in labor hours, and a surplus of partners. If the manager is interested in hiring you or bringing you back for a second interview, they have your information to do so.

Definitely don’t bug them! If they don’t hire you you can always try reapplying in a few months. I applied at Starbucks before I had any job experience and didn’t get hired, again a few years later (still didn’t get hired) and I was finally hired this year. :) Don’t take it too personally
