I feel like this is somewhat common in the workplace setting in general, not just Starbucks. When I was in my teens and working at Starbucks, I definitely worked with one of these golden boys that a few of the barista girls had a thing for, including myself. He was generally a flirtatious guy, and there were times I thought what we had was "special" and "different". We flirted a lot and I was crushing hard, buuuut he ended up with another fellow female barista who he eventually married and has 3 kids with.
For my own personal experience, I chalked it up to me being young, naive, and inexperienced when it came to boys and relationships. As I got older, I stopped really caring about those flirtatious boys and if I felt like there was something between us, I'd just ask about it (ended up briefly dating another shift by doing this).
I know this may seem easier said than done, but if you feel like there is something between the two of you and you have the courage, maybe ask? Or focus on getting to know him better? Or "hang out" outside of work if you already don't (while still being cautious of Covid, I hope!).
