A lot of partners say their managers suck but... (self.starbucksbaristas)

The store I'm working in is a true hellscape. So many things are wrong that I couldnt even begin to list it all in a single post. I'm a 291 and havent been working more than a few months, but in that time I've been threatened, burned by chemicals from lazy managers refusing to do the bare minimum, almost fired for listening to pandemic rules and regulations, insulted and talked about behind my back by other partners, experienced tons of transphobia, and got through two store closings and tons of COVID scares, to name a FEW. The store is so disgusting that the only reason it hasn't been given a failing grade is because they bribe the health inspector. I've been doing clean play every week for a long while now, and every day disgusts me more. We cant get basic rights or treated fairly and we have gone to OSHA, we have gone to local health boards, we've started and closed a bunch of ethic complaints and still nothing ever gets done. It's honestly so frustrating, because other stores seem great and the job isnt even that bad, until you have to deal with the horror that my specific store holds. I love being a barista, but is it even worth it?

No. Starbucks is an awful company to work for. I quit after a few months.

Transfer stores or go on strike.

Take pictures of the mess and email them to you DM (you should have cards with their email in store). Find out who your regional manager is and email them pictures. Ask a shift supervisor how to submit an incident report and do it everytime someone is transphobic or threatens you or doesn't follow Covid protocols (did you know failure to check in correctly can be a fireable offense?) Document, document, document.

Also you absolutely must file an injury report with Sedgwick for your chemical burn. If your store manager tried to talk you out of it (or didn't mention it at all) that's another thing Ethics needs to know.
