Has anybody ever had to train baristas in an un-opened store?(self.starbucksbaristas)

As the title states I’m transferring to a brand new store. The store doesn’t actually open until Jan 18th so from the 11th until then I’ll be training two new baristas. Do you just run the store as if it was open, making product and brewing coffee? I’m a 241 and have been a shift before, but after leaving the company, and coming back as a barista I’ve been asked to train multiple people. I have extreme anxiety about training people even after training three people in the past two months.

Practice. Beverage. Routine. As a 209 I cannot stress enough how helpful a skill this is to hone. I just transferred stores and haven't had time to help teach the green beans this with holidays and such...

When I first started I was trained in an unopened store. We wound up finishing all the basic stuff in like two days because we had all the time to focus on training without daily store activity in the way. I’d say go through all of the training and afterwards hone in on things they specifically want more of and on things you noticed.

we have a lot of new partners right now and a lot of them were trained at the mallbux thats closed right now. god this is the dream because now you can take your time and explain each important thing and step to them, making sure they understand, and not have to worry about all the background rush. my manager always makes me train in the middle of peak and it’s always a huge struggle.

At least it’s not how it used to be. I remember having to run shift and train barista at the same time.

There’s a store opening somewhere around my store, I don’t exactly know where but we had a couple of their new baristas train part time at our store and part time at another store, but when their store opens they’ll just go there and finish up their training and continue business as normal, so your situation might be similar to that?

I’m not completely sure. When I was speaking to my SM he said all training will be done it the new store. I wish it was your way haha.

i opened a new store too and all of the new partners just trained at a different store in the area. so you’ll get your training, and then open the store
