Dairy free drinks with whipped cream(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Tubby__duck
Why? It is a small peeve of mine because I just don’t get it. I know some people who use dairy free options aren’t necessarily allergic to dairy, but I get weirdly annoyed when people still want whipped cream in their dairy free drinks.

Plus some people just really like the taste of some dairy free milks more! Sometimes I get almond milk in certain drinks just because it tastes better to me, and whipped cream goes nicely on top :))

Whipped cream is yummy, and milk, in large quantities, upsets peoples’ stomachs sometimes. But the tiny bit thats in whipped cream is fine. I do this often

Heavy cream/whip cream is much harder on one’s stomach than equal/even higher amounts of whole milk , smh

That depends on whether what bothers you is the fat or the lactose. If you’re not lactose intolerant, that might be true that the fattier dairy products are harder to digest. However, heavy cream has far less lactose in it than less fatty milk.

Depends on the person. No need to talk down to me we’re both minimum wage workers just trying to get by.

I guess i just see it as go all in or don’t have dairy. But it does make sense that whipped cream is yummy and some people just want a little bit

I’m lactose intolerant, but the fattier milks don’t bother me. I can have cheese and whipped cream, but stuff like ice cream, whole milk, and any less fats will upset my stomach.

as a vegan, I felt that.

It could be for lactose intolerant people who want a treat.
Lactose is a milk sugar, so sugary milks from whole to skim will have a lot of it. Fatty milk products like heavy cream and cheese shouldn’t. The whip has sugar in it but not lactose sugar from a milk byproduct. This is why it would make sense for a lactose intolerant person to have a drink this way
Of all the subs in drinks, I tend to be more understanding of medical reasons behind them (decaf-former coffee drinker with heart issues; sugar free-diabetes. Although nonfat with it seems to defeat the purpose. Etc) You don’t know peoples diet plans or what their doctor is telling them

The caramel frappe tastes much better with almond milk and I still like whip cream :)
