Why do customers tend to do extra for free drinks? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MemesandSpeech
Had a customer who orders her drink at 9am and to later come back around 1pm to claim that her drink had spill because it wasn't bagged correctly or that it didn't taste right. When I asked her why she didn't came EARLIER INSTEAD OF HAVING THIS HUGE GAP OF TIME, she responds saying she was busy with work and that she is a student, etc. (This is like 5th time I seen and heard of her by my partners and her "excuses".)

Another customer came in asking for her online order in which it never appeared, when I asked her to check her mobile receipt to see if has been sent to the correct store, she tells me her phone is in her car and it's **BLOCKS** away. So I take her word, make the suppose drink and see her leaving my store towards her car that was exactly in front of the outdoor windows.

There’s a woman who is kind of a regular at my store? She’ll come everyday for a week and then we won’t see her for awhile. But she orders a vanilla latte with extra nutmeg on top and steamed into the milk. And it didn’t matter what we did, without fail, hours later her husband would call and say we made the drink wrong. I stopped experiencing this when I LOADED that drink up with nutmeg. After weeks of complaining that we don’t put enough nutmeg, there was no way she would complain about TOO much nutmeg when she is constantly asking for more. She’s only complained once or twice since then.

Another related story: a woman started doing a scam where she would go to a store and demand that a very large order she placed recently be remade. Like sandwiches, multiple drinks. And a refund on top of that. And also start saying she deserves more free things because of the inconvenience. After she hit my store, it became known that she was doing this at all the Starbucks in the area and it’s ON SITE now. (She tried to walk into our back room to take free sandwiches she thought she deserved and the shift almost called the police but was so baffled it slipped their mind)

Yeah that first one I would get your sm involved and see how they want to handle that situation. As for the second one. I don't remake anything, especially mobiles to the wrong store without proof that they have paid. Like if it's a remake and they have the "bad" one in their hand I'll do that but come on people at least try

Is it policy to make them a new drink whatever they say?
