Ask your shifts what you can do in your downtime, always be cleaning, make sure you and your coworkers are up to standard with recipes/dress code/policy etc, even ask your shifts if there’s any of their tasks that you can do for them to make it easier. Those are some of the things that get me talking up a barista to my SM. Definitely express interest in moving up too, as no one will know unless you say something!

My first tip is don't burn yourself out trying to get noticed.
Second, take responsibility for the store when you're there. Learn what's expected, and try your best to maintain standards and good customer connections. And then ask your manager about how the promotion process works in a few more weeks.

I’ve been working at Starbucks for about 7 months now and was asked by my SM to interview for a shift this month. My advice is just work hard. I am always doing something for my whole shift. If I’m on bar or food or front, I’m working hard to do a good job. If there is any down time, I’m cleaning, restocking, doing trash, dishes, wiping things down. My coworkers really respect me so sometimes ask me for direction, so I always make sure I’m helping my coworkers in any way. I just always have the attitude that I’m willing to help and work hard for the team / store. If something needs done, I’ll do it. I don’t complain about having to do drains, sinks, trash etc that others might complain about.

work on coaching partners and ask for feedback abt what you can be working on ! also make sure you tell your manager you’re interested in being promoted. don’t expect them to know just bc you’re working hard
