Anyone else have this problem? (self.starbucksbaristas)

So my store is slowing reaching the goal of having a drive time average of 60 seconds or less. But our district manager is trying to get us to under 50 seconds in a month or two. They made a point to emphasis on the time the customer is at the box and at the window. I asked them what we should do about the customers that sometimes don’t know what they want and they take a minute or so to order, or the customers with fairly big orders (which makes our avg higher). And my dm said that we have to just be creative. Any advice for what we can do?

I personally find it hard to find even one single fuck to give about DT times and or customer connection scores

also cant forget the people that pick up their mobiles thru the drive through, then complain about how their drink is wrong. i’m sorry dawg, but you’re the one that typed it in and ordered it. lol

very hard to get good window times when people take 60 seconds alone to pull their wallet out or get their app ready to scan

Bro just work at 90-95% of your best if that. Dont worry too much about times and vague “connection scores” and whatnot.

If you’re working, you’re working.

at my store in the mornings we keep it at 30 or lower, our DTO team communicates a lot with bar staff to make sure the drink is at least halfway done before we send them to the window so it will be ready by the time we take your payment, we also “fake stall” by saying we’re checking to see if we have your food item but really it’s been on the oven for 30 seconds already, also pulling people up or to park if they have a food item that will take a really long time to warm. it requires a lot of communication and teamwork, i don’t hark too much on connections but just be nice and quick with the interaction
