I’d like to start a topic about the best stories you’ve got to tell about your store(anonymously) customers and generally Sbux situations after the pandemic began.
I’ll start with mine: Very quiet as always, no one in sight so I drift away in my thoughts. Suddenly this distinguished-looking man walks in. White and in his 50’s, orders a venti latte and starts the chat. I am alone serving and preparing his drink, so he drops a classic “You must be so bored , no one in eh?” (as we’re in a middle of a national lockdown I don’t expect anyone in at all but here we are) all of a sudden guy asks me if I know what his tattoo means. ( shows me an Illuminati eye on his arm) I said I did, but I wasn’t a conspiracy theorist, so I don’t get all details. He continues and tells me about some banking family from Austria and how they control the world and shit like that. I just nod and say “oh really”, but he seems to be enjoying the conversation. Then he starts telling me how the city looked like in the 80’s(With a clear indication to how ‘English’ the city was) and how he’s operating in property market etc. At this point, my colleagues are coming back from the office and he whispers a disgusting and shocking line “ I would never rent a flat to a brown person” at the same moment as he said it two brown Muslim women walk in and before I even had a chance to react to this racist remark; he casually smiles, wishes me a happy new year turns around and leaves. I’m stood there shocked, serving those ladies, and they go “it’s so quiet here,at least u have time to talk to customers ”. Little did they know that I’ve almost just been invited to join some white supremacist group.
