Grande rant—“sorry, we are out of...” (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by toomanykales
Minutes away from walking into a shift when we are out of all non-dairy milks, all grande cups, venti cold cups, and a ridiculous amount of other items. I was recently rehired at a new store and we are ALWAYS out of things (and they wonder why our connection scores are in the 20s) but it’s never been this bad—I’m so over it.

update: we now only have short and tall hot cups and tall iced cups. i love this shift :////

Push your opening shifts to get their pats right and order efficiently. We have almost no back room space, and while we do run out of one or two things at the end of the day it’s not that bad.

The biggest problem we have is limited back room space and an extremely busy store... I’m not saying the orders are being accurately done (because they’re definitely not) but it definitely doesn’t help the problem. :(

Same. We are a mall store and when school is out (winter break) we can burn 2 cases of strawberry açaí a day sometimes. Also getting mobile orders that use 1-2 boxes of sa in one order :/

Part of the issue is being. Understaffed. If the opening shift can’t break away to make sure they are ordering right, or the SM isn’t setting accurate pars. If you just get the auto ship your inventory is a mess. For some reason auto ship things we need a case of mocha and frap chips every day..... we have like 4 of each and they don’t go very fast.
