Just tested positive for Covid after exposure at work (self.starbucksbaristas)

My store is now closed until at least the 22nd bc so many of us have it. My sister, who I live with who also works at starbucks but a different store now has to quarantine, if she tests positive everyone she worked with yesterday has to isolate... as a result of someone giving it to me two stores might eventually have to close for a bit. What a mess.

That’s crazy, I hope everyone makes it through safe! When one of our stores partners came down with COVID we were told to just carry on, despite having worked with them the day before, so I’m glad that you guys get to quarantine!

I’m also on quarantine because of a coworker until the 19th. Only 4 people can work right now but apparently they aren’t closed just adjusted hours, which is wild since there are FOUR OF THEM REMAINING. Low key I’m glad I’m not one of the four. I couldn’t imagine.

I’ve no clue and not my problem, honestly. I think they’re only open 6 hrs a day on days that everyone can work and are dt only rn but that was the initial plan when we all found out that we had to close cause the whole team who was on then was exposed and so it may have been updated

Last I checked no but again that was as we were closing early for the day. It’s possible they do now. The people not there are really out of the loop rn haha

I just got put on quarantine due to exposure at work. Luckily we were sticking to block schedule so we still have half the team in play but with the skimpy schedules and me not able to cover shifts this paycheck is gonna be bare bones . I’m really hoping no one else comes down with it at my store

Aren’t you getting the quarantine pay?? I mean this pay check will be less than I wanted especially bc I was going to pick up an 8 hour boy on mlk day and now I can’t. It seems honestly like close to half of us are quarantined right now it is so so bad. We dropped the block scheduling a while ago as it just didn’t work well for our store.

Yeah we are all getting isolation pay, but I usually pick up enough shifts to work 33-38 hours a week and these next two weeks I’m only scheduled for 24. We had a modified block schedule (Mids was 1045-12 for start, evenings was like 3-5 for starts) and we’re going back on hardcore block schedules next week , hence the schedule cut since I couldn’t cross blocks . I think manager said we still have 16 partners on the floor able to work so we won’t have to totally close except for today

Ah I get that. I’m a full time student so I’m typically scheduled for 20 exactly, pick up shifts to the mid-low 20s unless I’m on break then I hit the high 30s. But yea it sucks I can’t pick up a shift on mlk day and bc of the original closure plan he bumped my hours down to 19.5, and I took a day off next week so it got bumped to 18.5. Idk I feel like I got burned all the way around with the timing.

I was scheduled for a 6 hour shift that day. And he said we just get base pay even if we were scheduled holidays :/ I do have a bit of sick time that I may use to pad my iso pay a bit. I’m only a 5 month green bean so I don’t have that much stashed
