Would you like coffee and milk with that syrup?
dandelionfloof [OP] 75 points 2y ago
Apparently they do this every. Single. Day.
Izuku5747 64 points 2y ago
I- I really hope they get their insulin shots.
brownieprincess33 79 points 2y ago
Just give the syrup bottle with a straw at this point
dandelionfloof [OP] 30 points 2y ago
You're not wrong lol
sweetyang 43 points 2y ago
Do... do you want the diabetes? Also who hurt you!?
dandelionfloof [OP] 32 points 2y ago
That's literally what the barista that pulled the sticker said 😂
sweetyang 7 points 2y ago
Lol
mattjlayman 41 points 2y ago
Non-sbux employee here who enjoys this sub: Does starbucks charge extra if you get an ungodly amount of syrup like that? The amount of times I see this sort of thing in this sub is alarming.
Ristrettooo 40 points 2y ago
Nope, no extra charge. I have a regular who gets an iced coffee with 21 pumps of syrup several times a week.
mattjlayman 24 points 2y ago
Disgusting and unhealthy
lecameralady 26 points 2y ago
Nope! They charge once per syrup. So say you add 10 pumps of vanilla? 60 cents. If you add three pumps of raspberry and one pump of vanilla. That's 60 cents a piece so a dollar and 20 cents. Prices vary per region but this is an example.
Unipanther368 21 points 2y ago
Mine is 60 cents for syrup in general, so they can do any amount and type of syrup for the 60 cents. So 3 raspberry and 1 vanilla would be the same price as 10 vanilla. That's my kiosk though 🤷‍♀️
420catloveredm 12 points 2y ago
This is true at my store too. They will charge if you add a sauce though. And for every topping.
Unipanther368 6 points 2y ago
Yep. Those are all considered separate additions
[deleted] 2 points 2y ago
really?? i usually get an iced flat white with 3 pumps of vanilla and i get charged 90 cents more, 30 cents per pump?? :0 am i ordering wrong
acelestialgay 2 points 2y ago
My store’s syrup fee is ninety cents, so in your case you’re being charged for the syrup in general not per pump.
[deleted] 1 points 2y ago
oh ok. i currently work at tims (aspiring starbucks barista) and it’s 60 cents per pump 🙀
iWantToBeARealBoy 2 points 2y ago
I‘m pretty sure they don’t charge you again for adding another syrup unless it’s mocha/white mocha/ etc.
Aliciarox11189 1 points 2y ago
My store unless as update changed it
You could do like 10V and 2CD and whatever other syrup = 60cents total
Some drinks like the ice coffee dont always charge. Or maybe if you do sub classic and then 10v
Winter_Tangerine_926 1 points 2y ago
(not a Starbucks barista, but a great fan)
So I could go to any store, ask for a insane amount of syrup and then made like 6+ coffees at home? 🤔
sandycat555 3 points 2y ago
I did once see a woman get 2 shots of espresso, take them out to her car, and pour in her own chocolate syrup. But her car had plates from across the country, was full to the brim, and she had a toddler. So I had to respect her efforts to save costs.
cuccumella 3 points 2y ago
Or you could buy the bottle of syrup. Costs more but it's less dick-ish
drinkliquidclocks 2 points 2y ago
My cafe charges for syrup if you get more than double syrup. We aren't a normal sbux though so that isn't standard
WolfMD50 2 points 2y ago
Also, non employee, but enjoy the sub. Isn’t it possible they are just getting the syrup and mixing with drinks throughout the day. I worked with a guy who would get a treinta cold brew, no water, no ice and just make smaller cold brews throughout the day.
OnehappySmile 37 points 2y ago
14 pumps? 5 grams of sugar per pump? 70 grams sugar. Must not be Keto for sure. https://www.mensjournal.com/food-drink/heres-what-drinking-76-grams-sugar-does-your-body/
PhysiksBoi 25 points 2y ago
It's 18 pumps, so at 5 grams of sugar per pump this is 90 grams
lecameralady -24 points 2y ago
Its 18 pumps of vanilla, ice coffee comes with classic syrup unless stated otherwise (aka the cup would say SUB 18 pumps Vanilla/ or No Classic) the standard is three for a tall so it has 21 pumps of syrup total 😅
Unipanther368 37 points 2y ago
Iced latte, not an iced coffee, so just the 18 pumps of vanilla
OnehappySmile 18 points 2y ago
Non Sbux employee here. In total disbelief. 😱 Do you ever feel like drug dealers only underpaid? 🤑
shosh_c 2 points 2y ago
Yes
evildemonllama 17 points 2y ago
Maybe they plan on using it as sweetener for drip from their work...? I can only hope someone isn’t actually consuming that.
star_pants 1 points 2y ago
Considering how it's ordered as an iced latte and with what I've witnessed in the past, I 100 percent believe that they just drink this
KingDuck7 16 points 2y ago
Hey do y’all stop customers and be like “Hey it normally comes with x amount, ARE YOU SURE you want 3000 pumps it would be A LOT”. I know they still get it but I have to ask 😭
dandelionfloof [OP] 12 points 2y ago
All the time! I don't want to have to waste product and remake a drink if it's too sweet lol
disco_covfefe 11 points 2y ago
yep!! I say things like "ok, so 16, one-six pumps of classic? Normally a venti comes with just six. Want to make sure we get it right!" and the customer is always like yep, 16 and also three splendas. SMH
KingDuck7 11 points 2y ago
Yeah it’s the 3 splendas for me
disco_covfefe 9 points 2y ago
right? like oh after a total of 18 pumps of different sugary syrups, let's just add some carcinogenic sugar powder in there, because the classic/vanilla/caramel isn't making it sweet enough. Oh and VSC? ok got it.

I want to know how these people make their food at home. Do they just pour the whole salt shaker on to it? Dump an entire bottle of hot sauce on their eggs? use chicken nuggets as croutons floating in a bowl of ketchup? because that's the equivalent to how they drink their coffee.
Sarahthelizard 3 points 2y ago
Same. "This was on purpose right?"
sandycat555 2 points 2y ago
I think when they’ve built up a tolerance to that much sugar, the Splenda is “off” just enough to kinda reawaken their tastebuds.

I used to drink white chocolate mochas for years and eventually they didn’t taste sweet to me anymore. A few pumps of toffeenut added a different dimension which made them taste sweet again.

And yes I’m probably close to diabetes now LOL
blogging7890 12 points 2y ago
I’m fat and even I don’t understand this 🤦🏻‍♀️
kellieb71 10 points 2y ago
My teeth hurt just LOOKING at this.
And my pancreas is crying.
barista6467 9 points 2y ago

Pumps of peach? We've got peach juice concentrate that comes in a carton at my store
plushiequeenaspen 2 points 2y ago
Peach syrup is a big throwback lmao that was a thing a lot of years ago I don't remember how many
KJ2998SJ 1 points 2y ago
Ahhh I see. I know the Canadian locations have lots of differences from the American ones so I thought that might be been it.

PM-ME-BAKED-GOODS 7 points 2y ago
The bug guy from MiB ordered this didn’t he
dandelionfloof [OP] 3 points 2y ago
😂😂😂
BetaCatisKing 6 points 2y ago
Dude- that so sweet- at that point it’s vanilla melted ice cream with a tinge of coffee
[deleted] 5 points 2y ago
Back in the old days.... like 2004-ish I had a customer that would come through the drive-thru every day and order an Almond Soy Latte @ 130 degrees, 1/4 Splenda that I’d have to cut & add in front of her and 10 pumps of Hazelnut on top of allllllll of that. I haven’t been a partner since 2006 but Brenda, wherever you are, I hope you still have a pancreas. It’s been forever but I still remember that.

Oh and 18 pumps of vanilla is just revolting.
temporarynothings 1 points 2y ago
1/4 of a splenda?? how do you even figure that out 😭
[deleted] 1 points 2y ago
It was ridiculous. She claimed she could taste the difference between 1/4 & 1/3 of a Splenda packet which is why she made us do it in front of her. So I’d take the scissors and cut that mofo.
dandelionfloof [OP] 4 points 2y ago
Guys, gals, and non binary pals. I have news. This is ordered almost every day by a parent for, wait for it, their C H I L D.
I... I can't process this news myself. But a long term partner confirmed.
I mean, do you for sure, but like... daaaaaaang that's a lot of sugar.
Onagh926 2 points 2y ago
Even better.
sweetangel622 4 points 2y ago
With drinks like this I always assume (and hope) they’re taking it home to share it or mix it with something else
oceannndust 3 points 2y ago
One time this guy at mine got 32 pumps of assorted syrups, many of which were white mocha. It was a trenta iced coffee with 2 shots and EXTRA heavy cream also (but he had the audacity to say “don’t make it too light”), but the syrups went up to the bottom black line on the cup so he got like an inch of iced coffee and barely any ice. Probably the weirdest drink I’ve ever made 😅
Kaywin 1 points 2y ago
>EXTRA heavy cream
>
>“don’t make it too light”

Did you make him choose one? Jesus. "I want 10g of your finest pure white sugar, but no carbs!"
oceannndust 2 points 2y ago
LOL I just said “...uhhkay” and poured in like an inch of it in! He was also watching me so closely and didn’t seem to flinch so I guess I made it right 😂
Kaywin 2 points 2y ago
An inch of heavy cream hurts me somewhere inside oml. Glad he was happy though I guess? Lmaoooo
LZARDKING 3 points 2y ago
Fucking hell
rachcoop77 2 points 2y ago
When I worked at sbux I had a lady ask for a tall coffee with 43 pumps of classic syrup. 4 freaking 3. It was so much we had to upgrade it into a grande cup just so there could be room for the coffee. It happened 6 years ago and I still think about it at least once a week.
aznguy2020 2 points 2y ago
I never ask for extra syrup. I did once tried fraps with a banana once after chatting with them and an extra shot of espresso. And always treat them like they are human always.

I forget if tipping is in the Starbucks app or not.
Modaby 2 points 2y ago
Literal diabetes in a cup.
[deleted] 2 points 2y ago
do you have to pay 30 cents per pump??
lindenaaron1 2 points 2y ago
Waiting for someone to outright ask to buy a bottle from us and pump it into their mouth
radpandaparty 2 points 2y ago
Come on now, obviously they are just getting vanilla to have sweetener for 2-3 days. They aren't just drinking vanilla yall
dandelionfloof [OP] 1 points 2y ago
They order this daily from what another barista told me so idk lol they could be.
miakodank 2 points 2y ago
I want to pump the syrup into the cup while the person who ordered it watches so they can really see how fucked up they are
interyx 2 points 2y ago
Wow! That beats mine: some years ago a lady came in and asked for classic to the bottom line in her cold brew. I had to unscrew the pump and free pour it. So gross.
dammitchels 2 points 2y ago
no.................
HippieinBlack 2 points 2y ago
I don’t see the problem 😏
brownieprincess33 2 points 2y ago

I can taste the diabetes already...
HorrorEmployment6601 1 points 2y ago
I had a first yesterday when I was asked to put thirty pumps white mocha and sixteen CD into a hot CDL

COME ON GUYS WE GOTTA GET THOSE HEART DISEASE DEATHS UP!
SixPac_Man 1 points 2y ago
Jesus Christ that’s 360 calories of syrup alone, probably about a 400 calorie tall once you add the tiny amount of milk that can fill the rest
Makorra45 1 points 2y ago
😰😰😰😰😰😰 scary
elysemosunset 1 points 2y ago
That has to be a typo no?? Lol
