let me know if i'm coming across as an entitled newbie or something but... it was two new partners (two weeks younger than me) and i on the floor one day, and after a really heavy frap rush, our ASM pulled us to the back and told us we had to start speeding things up and learning how to double bar bc we were no longer under training. it felt... quite rude? my coworkers were fresh out of training and i had just completed a month. yes i felt bad we had to ask for help with bar but?? isn't that expected??
idk it felt like such a contrast to when i was told it's okay to keep learning for 3 months by my SM.

HA. I got hired and June and I was like 1/3 closers older that like 3 months for like 2 weeks Bc the rest of the normal closers were all quarantined. It was HELL. I think I uh leveled up on bar and then some. I’ve never gotten so good at multitasking.

Sounds like ur SM should schedule shifts better. It’s their fault for scheduling new partners onto one shift. Ofc u guys aren’t going to be as fast. It sounds like ur SM isn’t practicing what they preach and expect u to be able to work as fast as an experienced barista. Tbh if their attitude stays that bad I’d transfer. I hate working with rude and callous SMs.

that's the thing, my ASM was the one that told us this, not our SM. idk what happened that day, but it was really stressful and made me feel like it was our fault. none of my superiors have a bad attitude, on the contrary. it just weighed on me.

It doesn't matter how long a partner has worked with the company, if they need support then they need support. Not every partner is super fast on bar. Not every partner has the personality/capacity to do register of drive-thru all day. Not every partner is a great CS. In order to get people to par, they need support in their week positions. But new parters especially, should not be expected to solo bar a month in. (I was in the position, and I have a ridiculous ability to multi-task, so I figured it out. But it sucked.)

I'm sorry your ASM sucks. Literally things like this is why I make sure to take care of new partners.
