This one shift in particular HATES me and I don’t know why!!! He always keeps me late when I’m supposed to clock out and the other day I was about to clock out and he says “you’re not allowed to clock out until I SAY you’re allowed to go.” And then looked at the clock (5 minutes AFTER I was supposed to be gone) and says “stock the fridges and then you can go”. But it’s happening all the time and I have someone picking me up every day, so it’s frustrating when I can’t be ready to leave when I get there. I asked my store manager about it and she basically took his side that stuff needs to be done before we can leave. Nevermind the fact that I HAD done all the other tasks beforehand!!

I always leave late because we’re understaffed and I feel guilty lol BUT lately I’ve been giving a warning shortly before my time to go, like asking “who’s taking over [position] for me when I go?” that might be worth giving a shot? best of luck ❤️

NO one can keep you past your time off.
you need to leave, then go. A heads up is nice but not required.

I don’t think your SSV hates *you* bc he keeps you late. It is a matter of poor time management on his part.

thats not how things work. if you're meant to clock out then you do so unless they ASK you to stay which is totally up to you. let them know you have somewhere to be and just clock out next time. I personally hate staying late so 15-30 minutes before my shift is up ill ask if there's anything I should focus on because I clock out in X amount of time.

Oh I do and he gives me tasks well before I clock out, but he’s also just been giving me tasks AFTER I’m supposed to be gone. That’s my issue
