No.

No. That’s everybody’s first mistake. A lot of my younger coworkers all said I only applied here because I thought it was going to be easy.

i would put places like starbucks and chipotle in the category of companies that advertise themselves as very worker-friendly and ethical but if you ask any employee i’m sure they’d tell you they’re overworked, extended past their limits, and not given much in return lol. not to be negative but after four years, the only positive besides a minimal periodic raise is working with people i’m friends with. sm and upper management sucks and i’ve worked in 3 dif stores. i guess it varies though i’ve heard this from many partners in dif locations

no it is not easy.

No. It's a pretty demanding job with lots to memorize and keep track of. Many stores are chronically understaffed- you'll often be doing the job of 3 people at once.

^^They’re all whiners. It’s easy. Just manage expectations.

6 hours. Less if you have a good teacher. Just keep a little notebook, relax, and focus on muscle memory.

As far as learning the drinks go, it is quick to pick up?

No!!

I find it a good mix of challenging, but not overwhelming. Once you get over the initial learning curve, your muscle memory really takes over and you don’t have to continue to struggle through recipes, but then comes the opportunities to be more efficient and improve customer service. Easy would be boring, and there’s no time to be bored at Starbucks. There’s stuff to do through your whole shift. I really enjoy it-I hope you do too!

Easy ? I guess that depends on your definition of easy. I'll say it's much harder compare to say working at McDonald's especially the learning curve but more enjoyable. Making drinks, etc is just part of what you will be doing. Large part is cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.

It’s not easy, but no job where you work with the general public is. There are awesome customers, and there are customers who are having a shitty day/month/year/life and will take all of it out on you. It’s both physically and mentally demanding.

Okay, thats good to know. Thank you!!

There are simple rules for beverages and about 15 exceptions. If you can memorize your golden. Drive through stores require a skill that I am TERRIBLE AT, listening to someone and retaining the info for more than 3 seconds while remembering the last thing that was said while other things are happening around you. If you don’t have problems with this your also golden ! I came from a job that I thought was much more difficult ( running a 6 mil. F+B operation that covid killed off) and I was in charge of so many things but shift supervisor at Starbucks may be the hardest job I’ve had in 15 years. I feel ridiculous some times when the 18yr olds who have been there for a year still have to hold my hand. Depends on your skills but if you want to try it GO FOR IT !!!! Why not ?

Thank you!! I know it may be challenging to learn new skills, but this is something I have been really wanted to do, I just get nervous. Thank you for your thoughts!

Then do it!!!! I wish you all the luck :) nervous is normal for anything new
