How do you keep negative customers from getting to you? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Roolita
It’s just super frustrating how rude people can be to someone who’s just trying their best. Any advice would be appreciated❤️

The way they act says more about them than it does about you.

This. And it’s really just coffee. If a customer wants to ruin their own day over an overpriced cup of coffee, so be it. Let them. Just don’t let them ruin your day.

it helps to remember that its not about you. they just happened to have a shitty day and came across you so at the slightest inconvenience they'll lash out or be rude for no reason. Also I take a little satisfaction in being petty so if they order a drip coffee and I have a line ill take a few people behind them and then get to their coffee, if they complain I apologize and act like I just got backed up or if im making their drink ill be a little extra slow lol hope this helps!

Tbh for me I just go along with what they say and piss them off more by validating them than by fighting them

I️ just think that they must have a really sad life to get angry over a drink/food. That usually makes me feel better lol

You have to realize people feeling entitled and unfortunately we work at a place where having a certain brand of coffee makes you a certain brand of person so they want to be treated as such and if you treat them any other way it’s a problem, just ignore it and think about it like this they are spending $5 on the drink you aren’t also going to eat with coworkers if you guys are cool like that helps, vent about work while enjoying a good meal the people you work with make it worth while #gothroughhelltogether

just say it’s rich white ladies we already know who it is 😂😂😂

You don’t have to be white to be entitled

agreed! it’s just like 97% are in my experience

Understandable

I just point out how asinine they’re acting and they get embarrassed and stop immediately

i usually call them out and be like ma’am i’m sorry but it’s coffee. it doesn’t give you the right to be rude. fix the problem apologize and then tell them to have a nice day. fuck customer spirit i ain’t taking shit from Amy cause I accidentally put ice in her drink lmao

Years and years of working in food service at a college campus. You meet the most stubborn and most entitled human beings. Also I’m very stern where I don’t give a second chance. As the pandemic change my views in people.
