Reusable cold cups and straws (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by cjismycat
I have a shift supervisor who insists straws are an additional fee when someone buys a reusable cold cup (the $3 ones), because there is a separate button for buying straws. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that straws come with the purchase of a cold cup, and that button is just for when a customer wants to buy extra straws.
Either way, I'm tired of arguing with her. Can anyone help me on what the policy is? To me it doesn't make sense to buy a cup and have to buy a straw separately, but I'd like to just know policy, no matter what it is.

Yeah the cup comes with a straw. The signage says “Cold Cup & Straw $3.00”

Oh right. That's where I read it. Great. I just put up new signs, so maybe I can show her that and get her to let it go.

I've never head of that if you buy a drink then they usually ask the customer if they would like one due to the sippy lids

No, sorry, not for the regular cups. For the reusable cold cups with the green logo on them. They cost $3 and sometimes we have seasonal ones, like the confetti cup last summer.
