NTA- I’d much rather have baristas ask to see my ID than to later get burned by some random person stealing my numbers from those receipts or any other method and making me get in trouble for abusing the perks. While I get that Starbucks has fixed the original problem, it still doesn’t mean it couldn’t be circulating.

She wasn’t a partner. No partner would throw a fit about asking for ID. Everyone who’s a partner knows that’s policy, especially rn because everyone’s been stealing numbers off receipts. And if she didn’t come back for a refund, she knew she couldn’t cause she’d get caught. NTA.

My store is a little more lax on partner bevs, but even we at least do a quick "Surname?" check, and if you can't answer that, you're not getting anything for free.

also, some of the other starbucks i go to and say “hey this is my markout” ask for my name to confirm it’s really me. maybe that could be another method if someone says they don’t have ID. still think they should have their ID though. you’re driving bud,,,
