how does one take a mental health leave?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by st0n3butch69
Hello!
This is my first time filing for a leave with Starbucks. I am in a really bad spot and want to do an outpatient mental health program in my city. It does make it impossible to work and I am wondering if there is a way I could take a mental health medical leave /how I should go about it. Sedgwick says I have to go through HR or SM (even though I thought HR is the same thing as Sedgwick). I also have an absent SM who I would love to avoid talking to about this.
Please let me know if anyone has any ideas on how I could file for the leave.

Would like to be updated for this. I wonder as well. When I brought up to my manager that I feel drained and would like to take a leave she said that right now cause of Covid and short staff that Starbucks isn’t allowing any personal leaves. Only medical leaves like with doctor notes or pregnancy and such but nothing personal.

HR is the same as Partner Contact Center, Sedgwick is like a claims dept that keeps track of hours awarded and paid if need be. A phone call to both will be more helpful than your SM.

thanks so much ! i tried calling partner contact center earlier today but it redirected me to the customer service phone number. do you happen to have an idea of why that could have been? or if i should keep trying with that phone number

They redid the phone centers a little bit ago, the number I have for PCC is 1 (866) 504-7368 and Sedgwick is (877) 728-9236 this may be old information it’s just what I have in my phone.
