personally i don’t mind, and when customers are mad at me, i personally tell them my name with a big smile! of course you can have my name, it’s ___! :) good luck getting me in trouble for *spins wheel* enforcing the mask policy?

I typically don’t mind if they ask my name, unless they’re really creepy about it. I tell people my name at DTO like, “hi, welcome to Starbucks, this is _____, what can i get started for you today?” but it’s also a nickname, so maybe that’s why I feel more comfortable.

Sometimes as a customer, I’ve asked just because I mobile order so the baristas all know my name and I feel like an asshole being like “oh yeah, hi guy with the crew cut and glasses” or something after someone uses *my* first name. It just feels rude not reciprocating, or outright uncomfortable.
I guess it also depends on what kind of interaction. If the person was friendly it’s not likely to be a complaint. Someone angrily asking for your name has the speed dial for your Starbucks and is out for blood lol

I have zero problem with people getting my name. Especially when they're mad at me. Bring it on Patricia you think my boss will believe you over me? Guess you bug mad now!! I kinda feel it as validation.
Now, if they ask for my LAST name, hell no. They absolutely don't get that. That's a safety issue. The only person who's last name should be accessable to customers is your store manager on the store business card.
