We looked up reviews of our store. Just for shits and giggles. Little does this person know that over half of our staff is isolating because morning block partners tested positive for COVID. But yeah... we’re closed for no reason (i.redd.it)

I don’t understand why people don’t automatically think, “hmm, they’re randomly closed in the middle of a global pandemic? Maybe someone tested positive. I hope everyone is okay!” … I guess because they were inconvenienced, they don’t care to really think about why the store is closed, they’ll just flip out because the store was closed.

Yeah. Starbucks really breeds a specific type of customer..if you know what I mean lol. If one more person gets sick, with COVID or even a cold, our store has to shut down. Whenever people complain about it I just respond “I’m so sorry (ma’am or sir) but I just work here.”

We had someone leave us a 1 star review because we were closed when google said we were open. The man said we should, "hire a 7 year old to update the hours". Sir, we have no control over that, and also are you THAT inconvenienced that you needed to make a snarky review? Tbf, it's a Starbucks customer and i dont expect anything else.

Also, it’s illegal to employ a 7 year old in the United States. If I saw that guy at my store after reading the review, I would definitely mention that 😂

Folks always demand a explanation for the most minor of inconveniences and for stuff that’s so much out of your control...I had a lady upset that we were closed and it’s like ma’am the fire department is here...there is a fire...no I can’t make a passion tea lemonade...because I’m OUTSIDE WATCHING MY STORE ON FIRE!!!!

We had a store review about how shitty our staff that day, she said “where is the adult in charge of these children, they’re all just standing around while I’m standing in line waiting to be helped” … we were shut down for 7 days because we had 3 people on different shifts get covid. I don’t know who was “standing around while she was trying to be helped” when we were literally completely shut down!

Also, side note, we usually brew new coffee pretty frequently. But when we’re under staffed (you know because of this pandemic, and there’s only 3 of us) we forget. Mistakes happen

We had a one star review that made me cackle because it was clearly a middle aged disgruntled white man who left it.

This is what it says: “Long wait. Couldn't load the card couldn't pay by my phone.. sat at drive thru 15 minutes waiting for a socialist liberal to fix my coffee...
They want $15.00 an hour.” 🤣🤣🤣

Is there a way to find out if a particular store is temporarily out due to Covid ? My local store had this happen yesterday morning and abruptly closed (Likely the same store as OP as the people in this town are somewhat prissy and precious).

To be perfectly honest, I don’t know for certain if there’s something from the higher ups (like corporate) that dictate what we can or cannot say. All I can speak is from my experience. I know for my district, we have about 5 stores closed because of COVID outbreak amongst the partners. Ours is one the few that is still open. At our store, we have a sign on our doors that say something along the lines of “Drive thru only from 5am-11am. If you have a mobile order or delivery order during this time, please go through drive through. Cafe opens after 11am.” It says nothing of us being short staffed or anything about a majority of our partners having COVID or COVID like symptoms. The other stores in our district that are closed just say “temporarily closed.” They don’t say anything about COVID either. So idk if the DM told the SMs to not say anything, idk if the SMs are just choosing to not say anything, or idk if it’s coming from corporate. I would just like to tell people that if a Starbucks (or any fast food place) is closed randomly during the span of the pandemic, just assume it’s because they don’t have enough employees to operate because a majority of the employees have COVID, or COVID like symptoms.

Yeah, the store I was talking about abruptly temp closed. It would not be surprising, during MLK it was utterly packed, everyone was a little freaked out.

Coupled with people being kinda dumb, yeah, no one takes personal responsibility anymore.

Bummer, seems like it would be useful info to share, one of the girls at a neighboring store mentioned it was due to “the virus”, hope the folks are okay.
