this makes me so sad! I wish everyone had the amazing SM I currently have. He's trying his hardest in this trying time to take care of all of his partners.

My old store had the lowest employee turnover rate not just in the district but in the region. All due to a great manager. After he left, 90% of the staff was gone within three months.

i had the best SM ever, the only reason anyone ever left really was because they had a better job lined up or they were just moving, i moved from WA -> WI and i miss her everyday i work haha because this SM is sooooo different

Oh yeah, I remember that BS. Think of it this way - in my experience at least, people like them are most likely long-haulers or potentially lifers at the company. Moments like that, as ridiculous and annoying as they are, are the best some of them will ever experience professionally.

We have a new shift at my store who is trying very hard to make that happen but it won't because behind my manager's back he's the worst and we all go and tell her about it

I never regret havent left sbux. Barista for about 1-2 years then shift. Many experiences depend on the SM. . .

Ugh. As an ssv this hurts to see. I try so hard to make my baristas feel like they're my priority (second only to customers) because I lived through this meme as a barista :(

I'm the shift and I feel this happening at my store :/ I only kiss my managers ass because she's mean and scary. Lol. Not much I can do about it 😭

Replace shift lead with barista that was just hired who was already friends with the manager who is about to be promoted above countless partners who have worked their for a year or more and weren’t considered or even asked.

Store manager and day shift 🥴

Sounds like my old store...

This is pretty similar at my store. A shift can’t keep her mouth shut to our SM. She’s literally nicknamed the parrot because anything you say to her will get back to the SM.

I exclusively close, those are my only shifts, ever, and at least I'd say 3 nights a week I'll do a 5 hr shift from 2-7 by myself.

Fortunately for me I found out yesterday that my towns bus schedule has changed so I no longer "get" to close.

I feel this is pretty much everywhere. In my many years at the company and dozens of stores worked/covered at, I see this on a regular basis. The number of managers that didn’t do this I could count on one hand. Sad but true.

This.

Doesn't happen all the time but it does from time to time.
