264 partner here :) I have been a trainer for a year! I love it and i always have the same advice for my green beans. Use the sirens eye and recipe cards whenever you need to review! Ask lots of questions. Don’t apologize for being new ever and try to build a strong relationship with your trainers and shifts as they will be there for you if you ever have issues with other baristas and customers! Most of all don’t panic about memorizing things right away. The best thing you can do for yourself is be hands on and ask to be in the positions you struggle most with. Good luck!!

A 286 partner speaking here (coming up on my 1 year!) , First off, congratulations on the new employment! As for stuff to research before you begin, you could try looking on Quizlet as there are a few great sets of cards that will go over stuff like the number of shots, pumps of syrup, and other common place practices. Remember, even if you are confused or lost, your trainer and other partners will always be there to answer your questions and help you through. It's ok to make mistakes and just go with the flow and take in the experiences as they come up. Coming from someone who had like a month of training before the Pandemic, some of the best training you can ask for will happen when you aren't even paying attention! The fact that you are excited enough to post something here proves that, in time, you will be one incredible barista. I hope this helps ease your nerves a bit, I'm not a trainer or anything so this is just speaking off of my experiences and those of the Green Beans at my own store, but regardless. I wish you the best of luck!
