A woman comes in through DT, orders a venti caramel ribbon crunch; “can you make sure it’s sweet because the last time I ordered, it wasn’t sweet.”
Partner on DTO: oh definitely, did you want to add a pump of dark caramel... (trying to help this woman make her Frappuccino more sweet)
Woman: ugh, I guess that’s fine. Just as long as it’s sweet.
Partner: perfect your total will be blah blah blah
Woman: oh and can you add a shot to that

Adding a shot of espresso wouldn't make this not sweet. I know because I do this from time to time.
It could have been a legit mistake last time, but more than likely she just really overconsumes sugar.

But it would make it taste more like caffeine, yes the sweetness is there but more so the flavor of the espresso and frap roast.

This is also my thought. Or even just forgetting the base could be an issue, because that's where a lot of the sweetness comes from.
