Hiring managers - does this sound like a good idea for me to do? (Applicant) (self.starbucksbaristas)

I worked at Starbucks a few years ago and I applied again in December. Someone I know works at the one I applied to and they're still hiring, just is for whatever reason taking forever to actually hire anyone. I was thinking of going in person and asking for the hiring manager directly and asking for an update or something (please tell me a better thing to say ^^) is this worth doing or a fail waiting to happen

Just call! Mondays after peak are a great time to reach the SM because they do admin work before/after peak and are available to take a call then. We’re in a pandemic so I’m gonna advise against going in person 😅

Okay thank you! So I should just call the store and ask for the shift manager or store manager? May I ask what do you mean by after peak? Around which time is that? Thank you!

Store manager :) Sorry! I was a bit vague because you mentioned having worked here before. Peak is usually 7:30-9:30am, give or take 30 minutes, of course depending on the store (i.e. what time major employers or places like schools open for the day, or if a store is located in a mall that may affect it). Ask around 11am and you may have good luck!

No worries, it was a couple of years ago and it was at a Macy's, this one is its own store. Thank you so much! ^^
