Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Capitalism has brainwashed us in thinking it’s okay to work with even a minor illness. Most other developed countries don’t do this out of courtesy and respect. Some even wear masks with colds. Covid or not, you risk getting coworkers sick and them asking this same question and it repeats the cycle.


Capitalism also makes this cycle of not being able to take a stupid sick day possible, unfortunately, because most of us live paycheck to paycheck or don’t have enough sick days/time. As I mentioned, most other developed countries still pay you and just let you call off for being sick. They don’t have a certain number of hours or days for being sick. You’re sick? Okay come back when you’re better.

You should at least have some sick time to use, or maybe someone could switch shifts and you work another day.
