Congrats on the twins! I have no idea why but I really want twins if I ever become lucky enough to be a parent.

I am currently in the works towards working to be a shift, but, and I don’t know if this is true for other places, applying to be a shift now isnt about working towards that goal anymore or having certain training. Literally anyone can apply to be a shift now, as per told to me by my manager. He says for me to keep a look out for openings and just apply, but in the meantime to work on things as if I am transitioning to be a shift.

I guess in some aspects I like this since it allows people to not be constantly dodged by managers and district managers alike to move up the ladder, but it also means you don’t have to be at the company already to become one which seems a bit whack also.

Regardless, congrats on the twins, and I really hope you enjoy your new job.

I really like that too, I feel like that gives new hires a fair chance to prove themselves as capable and not have to “earn a spot” on the team and work their way up, if you’re capable you’re capable and that’s all there is too it really, I just wish when I was hired and told it was for a supervisor position that it actually happened as I was not pregnant then! Lol

You wanted to be promoted and then take maternity leave for twins lol

Yes. Lots of women get a promotion and then have to take a maternity leave at some point in their future, and it’s the managers job to account for that. They are paid to account for that. Why should needing a leave that might not even be as long as needed, effect a promotion that was already in place?
