Months ago I had a semi-regular customer come in with mask on, proceed to the register, standing 2 feet away from me, pull mask entirely off face & start hacking coughing into the wide open air in front of him, without hesitation or attempt to cover. I was startled & said “oh! Definitely keep your mask on please” (not here to debate my response) — he left in a huff, slammed through the door & hasn’t been back since. Among the dozens of other similar cases, it sure can be disheartening & exhausting.

I woulda just quit and walked out.
