Just applied! (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi, I just applied for Starbucks! I’ve been ordering drinks for years and have decided to apply. I’m excited as this will be my first job, but also really nervous for the same reason. I’m 19F, and have multiple health conditions, including fibromyalgia and tinnitus. What can you tell me about the accommodations I could receive with ADA? I mostly have problems with migraines, focusing, and especially standing for long periods of time with no breaks. I’m really worried that these things will affect my ability to work anywhere really. Should I even consider working for Starbucks? Please help me if you can, it would be appreciated!

hey! id talk to your sm/ manager about it. I’m sure they’d be more than willing to make accommodations, but it is a job where focusing and standing is a majority of what we’re doing. when I go into work I’m standing almost the whole time (except on break) and/or walking around. it really all depends on your manager as to if they’d be okay making accommodations, but I wish you the best of luck :))

You should not consider working at Starbucks. You will get a migraine on every shifts and the *entire* job is standing and requires almost laser focus. stores are very very noisy too.

not all jobs are a good fit for all people.
