That’s so disturbing for so many reasons. But our store is just as bad right now.

Order a new one, ew.

So, whoever was employed before me was using Gorilla Glue tape to hold the mocha pitcher together, because there was a crack in it. I was minimally skeptical then, but justifiably skeptical once the piping hit water started leaking out of the side. I figured that, after I threw it away, that I could patch it up again. Any ideas?

Besides telling my leader to order a new one, which I’m assuming she’s dodging the task of doing?

We can’t use broken items. Many safety hazards and that’s priority 1

Accidentally break it more so they are forced to get a new one

Yeah, if a health inspector comes in and sees you guys using a pitcher with tape in it you’ll get marked off a LOT.

You...pulled it out of the garbage to use it again? So many things wrong here

TRUST. ME. The creature on my left shoulder gave me the same statement, but I didn’t know just how bad off, financially, the store might be. There’s a lot of things we already don’t have, that various leadership can’t either seem to find or know what I’m mentioning from working at 2 other stores, and we officially have the most effective dishwasher in the land.... after an electric fire happened that no one knew about.

Dude I feel you on the sense of despair; I’ve spent my time with ineffective management and poorly stocked stores.

Bring it up to the most competent SSV, write a list of things you need to order in the DRB so that it’s officially documented store communication, and try and talk to your manager to bring attention to the list in hopes they’ll order the things you need.

Throw the non-food safe stuff out immediately; not having it at all will put pressure on them to take action. Don’t feel bad about getting rid of it; it’s a multi-billion dollar corporation and you should definitely prioritize safety over money.

In the meantime, mocha can be measured in the 2-litre pitchers and mixed in a cube.

If nothing gets done in terms of ordering new product, bring it up to your DM. Your paper trail in the DRB will help illustrate the realities of management dragging their feet.
