So, i have been working for Starbucks for the past 6 or so months, and over time I formed a bond with one of the shifts. He made every shift so much fun and so enjoyable to work. Everyone else at my store is great and I love working with all of them, but this store manager was my favorite of all to work with. Yesterday I found out he was fired for tardy issues, and I still have not complete processed and coped with this fact yet. I worked today and was extremely bummed all day. One of our shifts said I was being over dramatic and kept making jokes about it. I haven’t been in the working world all too long (almost 2 years), but I don’t think it’s over dramatic for me to be devastated to lose my favorite manager, right?

For the first shift after? Nope, grieve the loss of a beloved coworker, it can be hard to find people you legitimately love to work with.

No. This is totally normal. I’ve been working for over 30 years and I have coworkers I still think about. They become like family.

The good news is: you’ll find a new one. It’s a wonderful feeling.

You’ll move past it. Just know you’re an awesome human for recognizing this emotion.

I really appreciate this 🥺🥺. I’m just sad ig bc I’ve never had a manager like him, and I don’t think there’s ever gonna be another one that is like him

No, they won’t be. But you’ll meet people you totally love for other reasons. I promise. I’ve done so about six times.

I had a coworker who would take me for “snack walks” to the 7-11 whenever I was about to lose my shit. She was a god send. We are still friends.
It’s okay to be sad. Give yourself a few days!
