Something that happened yesterday
*Cafe order for a Santa Claus frap (vanilla bean with strawberry puree layered and holiday sprinkles) comes through*
Me: (not busy) I'm gonna make this gorgeous
Me: *pours my heart and soul into making this the most beautiful, Insta-worthy drink*
Customer takes it. 30 seconds later...
C: "I don't like how this tastes. Make me a strawberry frap"
My masterpiece is thrown into the trash (drink still full, btw)
This is a modern tragedy

I'm sorry.
Honestly after almost 20 years in some sort of food service, I've learned to just take L's on certain things; customers (especially kids/teens and people flexing for socials) appreciating aesthetics is one of them.
Unless I know the customer is a regular and will genuinely appreciate it, I absolutely will do the bare minimum to complete their order satisfactorily. It may sound jaded, but I also have a bit of my pride to protect to ensure all customers are handled correctly.
