As unpleasant as it is to hear about a firing, I’m really glad your team was supported the way you deserve when you brought this to your higher-up management. I’m sure whoever takes on the position next will take your health and safety a great deal more seriously and hold them to it! Stay safe out there

This. I can't help but wonder if they think baristas are too (poor, disempowered, ignorant, stupid, helpless, etc) to just take our complaints seriously without lawyering up, but...

Are you not allowed to ‘formally organize’ per the company?? Idk if I was reading into that correctly. Shame on them & good for you!

My old manager was fired too for this but I think it was a good idea for all of us in our store

I’m so sorry that this happened to you, your health is so much more important than anything else. I’m glad at the way everything turned out, sad they had to be fired, but glad that now hopefully y’all will get someone who cares about partners more. Makes me realize how lucky I am with my ASM (my store doesn’t have a SM currently) he makes sure that we are all healthy and then focuses on drive times lol. He’s a literal angel tho I love him

Man, I just quit because our SM wasn't taking COVID-19 seriously, at all. She actively encouraged us NOT to get tested and pressured us to work even when we felt sick. Thank you for this information, who knows, maybe something can change.

My manager isn't isolating partners when they've worked woth someone who's tested positive, had an occasion in which a partner tried finding coverage 2 days in a row for symptoms related to covid that could possibly be something else. On the third day, I think it was a Tuesday, they were isolated because their family member was positive. Thursday comes around and their results came in positive. I asked our manager if we had to isolate due to contact when they had symptoms to which they said no. He mentioned that only partners who had contact with such partner 24hrs before receiving the positive result needed to be isolated. But I've been told its 24hrs before symptoms not before positive test results....
