Do you have stores nearby to try to supplement hours? My partners who aren’t getting as many as they want hustle for hours and typically can find them.

we’re not allowed currently, for whatever reason. or that’s what we’ve been told, sadly. and we’re not allowed in their group chats, so we have no way of knowing. it’s such a bad situation

I would ask for clarity on that. And avoid group chats. Call the stores directly. Ask to leave your number if anyone is looking to get a shift covered. “Confronting” your SM isn’t likely to get your desired result. Be proactive and seek out every possibility.

thank you! that’s actually really helpful. i wish i had come up with a better word than confronting, bc i may be upset but i would never pick a fight bc that won’t end well. hopefully we can talk about it and see what’s up.

I know you may not want to hear it. But it may be time to look into other employment options. I’ve learned not to fight with managers. If they don’t see you for the good and hardworking employee that you are, then you need to find someone who will.

luckily, because i’m about to graduate, the real adult job hunt has begun. so i’m hoping i’ll be able to be done as soon as i graduate, it’s just this weird middle part that is the tough part.
