a froyo place near me did this allll the time with different things! dogs v cats, beach v mountains, etc. I think it compels people to tip more because people are inherently competitive

Honestly so true.. we weren’t very busy but made decent tips

my manager told us we're not allowed to decorate tip jars? yet i see every other store do that so im confused
boxinghamster16 2 points 2y ago
Yea technically it's against standards but some SMs/DMs don't care. Our DM doesn't allow it either.

Yeah I guess it’s up to their ‘personal tastes’ which is pretty lame and gives them a weird power over the store. He won’t Let us decorate anything in the store for holidays either which makes a lot of my coworkers super bummed.

It’s like a morale kind of thing. Like wearing a uniform you can’t personalize whatsoever. Even US military soldiers can customize their gear to a degree. He’s weird

You can decorate them just don’t write tips on the cube... it’s “begging” for tips if we do that.

Weirdd I don’t see what harm decorating the tip jar would do
lemonjuicepulp 1 points 2y ago
Idk either. But knowing my manager he just loves to have all the power he and use it however he feels. If he knows we want to do something, he’ll do everything he can to do the exact opposite lol. Makes him feel hard

This is genius. My old store once had a post it that said help keep *insert partner name here (it was a male and he’s the one who made it to begin with)* off the poll.

That is hilariouss

We did the same except we put Tom Brady for the Buccaneers and after seeing the Super Bowl I understand why
