That's the drain! It's connected to your plumbing. The pipe is clogged, likely with grounds. Call it in ASAP, that should be a priority one

Your grate is upside down. Did you just finish cleaning it like during breakdown

No, it’s not. There should be space between the grate and the tray as there is in the photo.

Sorry it just looked that way in the pic. Did you pull the machine apart and it happened after putting it back together? Cuz it sometimes does that if you put the drawer in first.
