Last minute meeting with our DM for shift promotion (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m super nervous because tomorrow I have to sit down, do a coffee tasting, and discuss my progression as a partner with our DM. I found out yesterday that this was happening tomorrow and was given my PDP to fill out today for tomorrow’s meeting. I’m feeling SUPER overwhelmed and nervous. I’m a little upset that it was kind of sprung on me and now I have to prepare with short notice and can’t even go over my PDP with my SM. I’m a barista trainer already and my manager has gone over the Ops Excellence book briefly but I’m still a little uneasy. Any tips for me? I’m an anxious person and value planning ahead so this is a very bad time. :(

How exciting! Do your favorite coffee to help you feel naturally enthusiastic about it. Practice practice practice. Pair with a pastry of course. Years ago there was a coffee master kit with things you could smell to help with pairing. Talk about the history of that coffee to show your knowledge. Think of a story or special memory (or make one up 😂😇) you have associated with the coffee to make it personal and meaningful. Hope that helps. Good luck!!

I was going to do nitro cold brew since that’s my fave and what I drink normally! I did a funky iced pour over Komodo with a sprouted grain bagel, avo spread, and sriracha drizzle for our district meeting a few weeks ago so I’m thinking I’ll keep this one more simple. I’m more concerned with the PDP portion 😭
