Am I allowed to wear an ace bandage on my wrist during work? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by badvforvever
So i recently sprained my wrist and I want to wear a thin ace bandage to keep it a little more steady. I can still work just as fine! I just don’t want my sm to think i need to take time off (especially cuz i’m still kinda new)

Technically no, food safety wise you can’t. Because milk/water/juice/sanitizer can wet the bandage, you can’t wear it. Unless you wear like a glove over your hand (maybe, don’t know if that would be ok either), if you were just on reg and didn’t handle food items that that should be ok. But you’d have to talk to your manager about it

Don’t wear it if you don’t want to take time off. I had to go on an loa for something minor. It’s a big inconvenience and could have been avoided.
