Help! (self.starbucksbaristas)

so i think i accidentally charged someone twice in DT and i didn’t notice until after. We were kind of busy so i think I got distracted. I’m still kinda new at DT and a corporate starbucks. I’m I going to get in trouble or fired?

no one will probably notice honestly! no one at corporate will, your manager won’t. if the customer noticed, they’ll either call your store and most likely get their next purchase covered or if they call customer service, they may be able to get refunded. if for chance your manager approaches you, it will be a coaching moment of “hey just be more careful”

i am curious how you think you double charged them? maybe we can help with that too

Hi ok i was freaking out if i would get fired or something. and i think we got busy so i change him once and then the payment went through and i was waiting on drinks so i helped them with the drinks i was waiting for and then i think i forgot if i changed them or not. and the order behind him basically had the same order as him so i think i just got confused on what was going on and i didn’t notice until the next car pulled up and i was verifying his drinks.

that makes sense! it’s an easy mistake to make and i think i’ve made a similar one before too. don’t worry, everything will be fine!

Something I do to avoid that is not bring up the next order until I’m finished with the one I’m on. It’s an easy mistake to make and I’ve done it too.

Did you tell your ssv? We can void the whole transaction if it’s caught the same day. Just print the receipt and check the last for of the card number.
