We all use that one r/Starbucks post from a year ago to log onto our online schedules, right? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Nobody at my store uses the hub app so we have to google “Starbucks online schedule” and click on the first Reddit post about it to get to the link to where the log in site is. Just wondering if anyone else only uses this backwards method.

Yup. Already know the government most certainly tracks me and I already get catered ads on social media from conversations I’ve had with my phone in the room. Don’t need my employer ALSO monitoring my usage. 👀👀

On iOS, you can see the permissions you give the profile to manage your device. This style of management is not unique to Starbucks, any decently run corporation should be doing this to protect their data. If you leave the company, they do not want to have to chase you down with their internal data, and these policies allow them to remotely remove their data from your device.

They do not get a waiver from Apple to spy on everything you do. They do know all applications on the device, and can add or remove them, but that's the only way to make it possible to download apps from the Hub app. They can't see the data from apps they don't control. They can't monitor your usage, except for having access to basic device data (iOS version, device name, IP address, etc) and network information (if you're connected to the internet but NOT what is being transmitted).

There's a section in the Hub app that details this too.

A cautious approach to privacy is always a good call though, so while this app does not monitor your usage of anything else on your phone, you can always open https://starbucks-wfmr.jdadelivers.com/retail/portal in safari and bookmark it to your home screen to avoid it entirely.

you can save a link to a webpage on the home screen of your phone! well, at least on iphones. so you could flick to get to the login site, and then save it to ur homescreen and it just looks like an app
