i suck at taking peoples orders. are there any register photos floating around?? (i know it’s frowned upon) but i want to learn as much as i can and hopefully make a good impression in the process!

My advice is to think of the register pages as "categories" rather than isolated drinks.
Major categories on top: beans, foods, drinks.
Bottom tabs are drink subs: brewed, espressos, frappe, teas, others.
Right hand tabs: modifiers/ the fancy stuff.
All the drinks on each page are grouped as buddies. All seasonal will always be at the bottom.

If you need to explore the register just do it when there’s down time at the store☺️ there’s also no shame in telling someone to slow down/repeat the order so you can type it in

Yeah just say “hold on a moment” or something like that. If they get super just ask them to be patient with you because your learning still

Almost every modifier can be punched in before the drink. Example: 'i want a single shot soy extra hot no whip..." Can all be entered before they say mocha/latte/chai etc.

they’re all over the place at the moment, i’ve only been on register twice. the other “new” girl worked at a tar bucks so she’s way ahead. i didn’t know you could enter them out of order.

Yeah you can. So a lot of it is color coded. Say you’re making a frap. All the fraps at the top in brown have coffee in them and all the ones in yellow are cream based. Whip, ice and water are all blue buttons, sweet cream, cold foam and sweet cream cold foam are all white. The more time you spend on POS the more sense it will make.
