Does management just change/add days to your schedule without asking or telling you they changed it??? I’m tired of making plans, doctors appointments, other responsibilities only to look at my schedule and see days added! Not weeks out either within days so no time to make other arrangements! Is this a company wide issue??

sounds like they should be paying you predictability. talk to your manager.

This is not a problem at my store. When the schedule comes out, if there are any changes after that our SM lets us know. Usually at least a week in advance, and it doesn’t happen often.
It’s not fair to you. If I normally work tuesdays, and I am not scheduled for a tuesday one week, I will make plans. Then, sometimes, she’ll ask me if I can work that day because she actually needs me. If I say no, she won’t schedule me for it even though i’m available that day.

I haven’t had any issues recently but my hours were getting changed and even my SM was confused so it might be teamwork’s or if you have an ASM they could be making changes. I just know if I need a day off for a certain appointment or plans I request off. Like if I plan on going to a concert I plan far enough in advanced to take that day and maybe the morning of the next day off.

I do that as well but when they give you your schedule two weeks out and you make appointments around your schedule that they gave you shouldn’t I be able to trust I have those days or time off?!? They are changing the schedule within days and not telling us just expecting us to check the app or notice the change when we are in the store!

Talk to your SM. It could be glitches and if they make a change they should be asking you if the change is ok.

Thank you! I most certainly will be talking to them!

my manager personally doesn’t do that, she always asks me before she adds me to the schedule. it seems your manager is very unprofessional

I’m glad to hear there are managers out there that asks prior! It gives me hope!

Literally this past Sunday it happened to me. I always put my schedule in my phone calendar so I knew I worked 3:30-10:30. I especially knew because i was gonna miss spending Valentine’s with my partner. Around 1:30 I’m laying in bed relaxing and my ASM calls me asking where I am and I say “I don’t work until 3:30”. He says “well I have you down for 1 you think you could be here by 2-2:30”.
In conclusion I spoke to some other baristas at my store and they all said it’s happened to them at least once. They just change the schedule without so much as letting you know or asking.

Sms are supposed to let you know, but some are absolutely sneaky. Screenshot your schedules when they get confirmed, and take another when they change. If they try to take action against you, you now have proof

this happens all the time at my store. literally every day there’s another complaint about the schedule. but we all kinda just shut up about it in the end bc we know he’s trying his best
