Hence why we do not steam anything other than the milks we have in the store.

Oh God.
NO. You can NOT warm food or steam/prepare drink ingredients that did was not purchased by the store and that arrived in a sealed container. There are reasons of health, safety, and customer confidence behind this rule. DO NOT DO THIS, EVER. This incident illustrates several such.
I hope this dumbista cleaned the living daylights out of the machine and learned their lesson.

That rang alarm bells for me too but I wasn’t sure if I was overreacting/thought I sounded like a nerd for saying it. Ive seen debates over grinding outside beans...
kmoonster8 points2y ago
Even nonStarbucks beans are a no-no, it's a quality control issue because the grinder grinds all the beans. Using outside beans in the grinder impacts the integrity of the supply chain the company uses for its beans. You can grind Starbucks beans from a grocery store, but not any non-Starbucks brands.
Edit: you are not over-reacting.

All I could hear in my head was my inner voice chanting louder and louder, "Health code violation. BIohazard. Health Code Violation! Biohazard!"
And now I'm wondering if the other company inspectors, the QASA people, would have lost their mind.
And now I wonder if this was pre or post Pandemic.
Alright. I'm falling into a panic and nausea spiral. Somebody slap me!!!
