A little love for my SM who witnessed my first mental breakdown of the new year today (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by hufflepuffisonfleek
So today I got into a little scuffle with a customer. We got busy, she was rude, she came back 10 minutes later and was rude again, I was frustrated and had a slight attitude with her. Being a new SSV I called my SM as soon as my shift was over (less than 10 minutes after the second interaction) and while I was recounting what took place I burst into tears.

My SM was very calm, he reassured me that I did the right thing and that he wouldn’t have put me in this position if he didn’t think I could handle it.

I know not everyone is lucky enough to have a great SM, but i thought he deserved some love after putting up with my over emotional ass today. So shoutout to him, I’m forever grateful for him and have never been happier than working under his direction.

I'm sorry to hear you had a rough end to your day.

But I bet you can do this!

Sometimes people are just a-holes, and as soon as they have the chance and they can take their crappy attitude out on someone they will. Especially if they think that person just has to stand there and take it. Like in Customer Service. Or if it's a younger person, and they are older.

Try not to carry that person around in your head, they don't deserve a free place to stay (...in your head)

great SM's really make the difference when encountering those rude customers. When my fellow partners feel safe and protected, the mean customers don't bother us because we know our SM has our back unless you do something crazy like spit on them for no reason.
