Mileage policy (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by junglejims4322
What is the exact mileage policy? Can anyone link me to anything in writing? Can’t seem to find anything, I know the pay rate varies by district but I was told by a higher up that it’s now the commute subtracted from the normal trip to my home store. I don’t think this is right so if someone could verify I’d apprecite it!

I’m not sure where to find it, but I believe it’s just the commute from your home store. That’s what I’ve always done.

Page 37 in your Partner Guide discusses mileage...
“Mileage Reimbursement
Store partners are not required to drive for work or use a personal vehicle for business reasons. However, a store partner may be asked to use their own personal vehicle
for business errands, such as transferring or picking up product from another store location or making a business-related purchase. A partner who agrees to use a personal vehicle for business purposes will be reimbursed for personal vehicle use mileage at the standard government rate per mile.
Reimbursement will be made only for certain business purposes and for miles driven consistent with Starbucks guidelines. To receive a cash reimbursement from the store’s till, the partner must complete the information required on the Mileage Reimbursement Log located in the store.”

Last I checked mileage rate is set by the IRS? At least that's what I remember from the partner handbook. I've only had 1 manager say that my "regular commute" was deducted, and she dropped it after I pointed out where I commute from is none of her business on a regular day...

Yeah I wish they had a black and white policy, like if it’s out of your way, 100% miles please.

Might be in the handbook.
