Would it be horrible of me to request to change my hours suddenly? (self.starbucksbaristas)

My store has hardly any night shift people, and as a result I’ve been working a lot of 830-5, 9-530, etc shifts because it’s within my availability. This semester of college has been an absolute shitshow and I can’t properly manage my time when I keep getting off work every night at 7-8 pm because it gives me no time to shower, do homework, do any other tasks (laundry, grocery shopping etc) and get a decent amount of sleep. Currently running off nitro and three hours of sleep, so. Besides all the people who make work enjoyable are morning shift, and idk. Nights are boring AF and I don’t get along with half the night crew anyway. Seriously thinking about just logging into the partner hours website and requesting a change of availability (hoping my SM approves it, she’s usually good abt that stuff but like I said we have no night people it seems)

change it. i just changed mine to have saturdays off because we’re always horribly understaffed for the amount of customers we get and i need an extra day off a week for my mental health. do it.

You have to look after yourself. After you change your availability talk to your manager about it. Maybe you two can work something out.

Naw Look out for yourself, the staffing problems isn’t your issue. That’s the managers job to higher the people they need to get the shifts covered. Don’t take that on and don’t take on any guilt. Your health and school work needs to be your priority
