Hi! My area is opening a full sized Starbucks in a few weeks and I got hired today as a barista. I’m pretty excited and just wanted to ask: what do you feel is the hardest drink to learn to make? Most annoying drink to make? Easiest drink to make (aside from just regular coffee)? Favorite drink to make? Least favorite drink to make? Most popular drink you make?

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! It can be a lot at times but if you have nice coworkers and regular customers you can connect with, it’s a great job to have.
Hardest drink has to be getting the foam right on an almond honey flat white.
Most annoying drink is really any frap or anything with cold foam.
Easiest drink to make are iced lattes. Not much really goes into it lol you just gotta get the pumps down.
Favorite drinks are cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites. When it’s slow it can be nice to make pretty Frappuccino’s.
Most popular drink is either a venti pink drink light ice no berries, or venti iced white mocha vsccf and extra caramel drizzle.

Easiest drink: black Iced coffee, plain iced tea or latte

I have only been with Starbucks for a little over a year, but I can tell you a bit!

I feel like it is different for everyone, I dislike the Honey Citrus Mint and tea lattes, opening teabags and fighting to get them out with tongs is just rough. Lots of people at my store hate cappuccinos, but they are my favorite.

In the beginning you will probably focus more on customer support and practice on bar when it is slower, assuming there are more experienced partners there. It can be overwhelming in the beginning, just know that you aren't expected to know everything in a month. Ask for a cheat sheet if they have it. My boss gave me a set of printed index cards with the standard shots and pumps by size and hot or iced, super helpful.

The basic drinks that you will go over are your easiest and most ordered, I believe they are Latte, Americano, Flat White, Cappuccino, and Mocha.

This all depends on if you are DT or Cafe, your location and your manager. Good luck! Hope this helps.
